OpenSeats: group plans that reach a real answer.
OpenSeats replaces a long group-chat thread with one private planning link. Invitees can respond before a deadline, giving the organizer clearer commitments and a practical way to move the plan forward.
The problem
Group chats are good for suggesting an idea, but weak at producing a final count. Replies are scattered, interest is easy to confuse with commitment, and the organizer repeatedly asks the same question as the deadline approaches.
A narrower planning flow
OpenSeats gives the plan a dedicated private link. The organizer can share one source of truth instead of reconstructing responses from a message thread. A deadline creates a clear decision point, and the resulting yeses are easier to act on.
Product and technical approach
The product is built with Next.js and Supabase, with Cloudflare Workers in the delivery stack. The interface stays focused on the small set of actions required to create, share, and respond to a plan. That focus is intentional: the product exists to reduce planning friction, not to recreate an entire social network.
What this work shows
